Cloud Riders

Never the champion or hero, 14-year-old Paul Winsome dreams his 11-year-old sister Vicki has been kidnapped by a sky creature.  Upon waking, the truth of the nightmare becomes evident.  She is gone.

Paul is summoned to the Maken Fairchild mansion where he learns from the wizard he must search for Vicki by using his Parallel-Imagined-Life.  To complicate matters, he also has to save the solar system; but…no pressure.

Surely someone has made a mistake.  Could anyone be less qualified?  Paul has to overcome his own doubts to face the monsters in the Horrid Ice Castle to free his sister, go through some very unique situations, put up with a talkative fellow sky rider, and try to keep up with his constant form-changing sky guide.  Paul quickly learns inside his Parallel-Imagined-Life he swims in an imagination soup of everyone's perceptions.

Cloud Riders is a YA Fantasy; a story about imagination itself.  Villain and hero blend with the reader's fantasy to look for the ice castle in the sky nestled within a golden cloud.  It challenges the reader to join Paul's quest; a non-stop ride into adventure and imagination, where humor and the strange commingle to carry the reader aloft into the clouds.

On the back inner cover of E.B. White's STUART LITTLE:

Quote: During his lifetime, many young readers asked Mr. White if his stories were true.  In a letter written to be sent to his fans, he answered, "No, they are imaginary tales….However, real life is only one kind of life---there is also the life of the imagination. Unquote.

But then, anything is possible.  It's kind of like a parallel-life, a parallel-imagined-life.  Earth Reality has a parallel reality, that of imagination.

CLOUD RIDERS is geared toward the Young Adult fantasy market, but suitable for the 9to 90 crowd.  Perhaps I'm underestimating the over 90 folks, and apologize.  I might also be underestimating the under 12 crowd, and that is, of course, unforgivable.

Chances are, if you liked RETURN TO UKOO you'll like CLOUD RIDERS and vice versa.

Meanwhile…Be happy, or be happy anyway.
